DESCRIPTION:Join us for Morning Speaker Series as we discuss sustainable practices for watering and growing your own food. We will hear from representatives from Jon Parry and David Rice with Weber Basin Water Conservancy District and John Trimble with Foodscaping Utah. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTERS:\n\n\n\nJon Parry\n\nAssistant General Manager\n\nWeber Basin Water Conservancy District\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid Rice\n\nConservation Coordinator\n\nWeber Basin Water Conservancy District\n\n\n\n\n\nJohn Trimble\n\nCo-Founder\n\nFoodscaping Utah\n\n\n\n\n\nJon Parry is the Assistant General Manager over Strategic Initiatives and David Rice is the Conservation Coordinator for the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District. As the regional water supplier within the Ogden and Weber River drainages\, the District provides a wide variety of water supplies within our community and is continually developing new strategies to conserve our water and extend existing supplies. Through the Water Conservation Learning Garden\, free classes are offered by the district to help community members understand the importance of conservation and create sustainable habits.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. John C. Trimble is an Associate Professor at Weber State University and co-founder of Foodscaping Utah\, a nonprofit organization that helps people get started growing food in beautiful frontyard foodscapes. As an educator and food and health activist\, John believes everyone who eats should be passionate about food and that growing food in our landscapes is how we can weave sustainability into our daily lives.
